In Your name, my Lord, I lie down, and through You I rise. If You take my soul, have mercy on it; if You return it, protect it as You protect Your righteous servants.

O Allah, You created my soul, and You take it back. Its death and life belong to You. If You keep it alive, protect it; if You cause it to die, forgive it. O Allah, I ask You for well-being.

All praise belongs to Allah, who fed us, gave us drink, provided for us, and gave us shelter. How many people have neither one to provide for them nor shelter!

O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and earth, Lord and Sovereign of everything, I testify that none is worthy of worship except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul, from the evil of Satan and his association of partners with You, and from committing wrong against myself or bringing it upon another Muslim.

O Allah, I submit myself to You, entrust my affairs to You, turn my face to You, and rely on You, in hope and fear of You. There is no refuge or escape from You except with You. I believe in Your Book that You revealed and Your Prophet whom You sent.

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the One upon whom all depend. He neither begets nor was born, and none is comparable to Him.
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of what He created, from the evil of darkness as it settles, from the evil of those who blow on knots, and from the evil of an envious person when they envy.
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer, who whispers in people’s hearts, from among jinn and mankind.

The Prophet ﷺ read these surahs into his cupped hands, blew lightly, and wiped his body; the sequence was repeated three times.
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed. The Messenger believes in what his Lord has revealed to him, as do the believers. They all believe in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers: “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” They say: “We hear and obey. Our Lord, grant us Your forgiveness; to You is our final return.” Allah burdens no soul beyond its capacity. It benefits from the good it earns and bears the consequences of the evil it earns. Our Lord, do not hold us to account if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not place upon us a burden like that placed upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Protector; give us victory over those who disbelieve.

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed. Allah: none is worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to Him. Who can intercede with Him without His permission? He knows what lies before them and behind them. They grasp nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi encompasses the heavens and earth, and preserving them does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Magnificent.

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all they shelter, Lord of the earths and all they carry, and Lord of the devils and all they mislead: be my protection against the evil of all Your creation, so that none oversteps or wrongs me. Mighty is Your protection and exalted is Your praise; none is worthy of worship except You.
