THIZIRI · ANDROID APP
Privacy policy
Effective date: 13 October 2026. Thiziri is provided by Under the Haik as a free, ad-free Android app for reading adhkar. No account is required.
This policy covers the Android app, package com.thiziri.adhkar. The web reader has its own privacy notice.
Information stored on your device
Thiziri stores favourite reading identifiers, daily recitation counters and their local date, and your language, theme and Arabic text-size preferences locally on your device. Search text and the current reading are processed in memory. If you enable morning, evening or before-sleep reminders, private Android preferences also store their enabled state, selected local times, notification language, permission-request state and scheduling/delivery bookkeeping. Reminders are off by default. These items support the reading, progress, preference and reminder features; there is no account or cross-device progress service.
App-controlled network handling
The current Android app bundles its readings and translations and does not request the INTERNET permission. It does not include advertising, an application analytics SDK, an application crash-reporting SDK or an endpoint that uploads your favourites, counters or reminder preferences to a developer-operated server. This describes the app’s own code; it is not a promise that Android or its platform components never transmit information.
Optional reminders and permissions
POST_NOTIFICATIONS allows optional notifications on Android 13 and later. Permission is requested when you enable reminders, rather than on first launch. If refused, the app provides guidance to Android Settings instead of repeatedly requesting permission. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED lets the app restore enabled reminders after a phone restart. Fixed local-time reminders do not require location, a server or special exact-alarm access. Delivery is approximate and may be delayed by battery restrictions. The next occurrence follows the device’s local calendar time, timezone and daylight-saving changes. Android Force stop prevents delivery until the app is reopened. Disabling a reminder cancels its schedule and posted notification. Notification channels respect Android sound and visibility settings. Reminder notifications show a generic invitation and category, not your counts or favourites; Android may show them on the lock screen or connected notification surfaces according to your system settings.
Android and System WebView diagnostics
Thiziri uses Android System WebView for its bundled interface. WebView usage metrics are opted out using WebView.MetricsOptOut. Android states that this setting does not disable WebView crash reporting. Android, the WebView provider and device services may handle diagnostics under their own settings, consent and privacy policies. Safe Browsing remains enabled. Platform handling is distinct from Thiziri’s app-controlled local progress data. Network observation has been limited and is not an exhaustive verification of platform traffic.
Retention and deleting your data
Favourites and preferences remain until you remove or change them, clear app data or uninstall. Daily counters start fresh when the app detects a different device-local calendar date. Reset progress clears counters only. Delete all local data asks for confirmation, clears Thiziri user state, cancels all reminders and posted reminder notifications, clears reminder preferences and requests clearing WebView storage, cookies, cache, form data and history. It restores app defaults and preserves bundled readings. Android’s notification permission and channel settings remain controlled by Android Settings. You can also use Android Settings → Apps → Thiziri → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall. Clear cache alone does not remove all user state. Logical deletion does not guarantee forensic erasure or retract old backups, user-created copies or diagnostics already handled by platform providers.
Cloud backup and device transfer
The current app disables Android backup and explicitly excludes app storage from Android cloud backup and device transfer, including local reader state and reminder preferences. Android’s own permission, channel and notification-mirroring settings are separate. Manufacturer-specific restore behaviour and historical backups have not been fully tested; old backups and copies may require separate deletion controls. Thiziri does not operate a server account datastore.
Support email and visiting this website
For support or privacy questions, contact contact@underthehaik.com. Sending an email is optional and separate from using the offline app. We and the email services involved receive the sender address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond and handle the request, and retain correspondence for that purpose and any applicable record-keeping obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive worship information or unnecessary personal details. Contact us about deleting support correspondence; this is separate from deleting data on your phone. Visiting this policy or other website pages sends normal web requests to the host, which may process IP addresses, timestamps and browser headers. The web reader has a separate privacy notice; its browser progress is not synced with the Android app.
Security and policy updates
Thiziri uses Android’s application sandbox and restricts WebView navigation and resource loading to its intended bundled content. It does not add its own encryption layer to stored preference JSON, and no universal security guarantee is made. Keep Android and System WebView updated. This policy describes Android version 1.10.1. If app-controlled data handling changes, this policy will be updated with a new effective date.
